Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal data bytebento.ph collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we measure how the site is used, we keep what you send us to reply to you, and we never sell data or show ads.

Who we are

Bytebento Information Technology Services (“Bytebento”), a software studio at Rizal St, Old Albay District, Legazpi City, Albay 4500, Philippines. We are registered with the National Privacy Commission, and we follow the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).

What we collect when you visit

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used, so we can improve it. It records:

  • The pages you view and how long you stay
  • How you arrived: a search engine, another website, or a link opened in apps like Facebook, Messenger or LinkedIn
  • Your approximate location (country and city), device type and browser
  • What you do on the page: which sections you reach, which questions you open, and which contact buttons and links you click

Google Analytics uses cookies to tell visits apart. It does not tell us who you are, and Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We look at these reports only in totals. You can block it by refusing cookies in your browser or with Google's opt-out add-on; the site works the same without it.

Server logs. Like almost every website, our server records each request it receives: your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser. We use these logs only to keep the site secure and running, and they are deleted automatically after 14 days.

Nothing else. The site has no forms, no accounts and no advertising, and we set no cookies of our own. Your browser briefly remembers the menu's position between pages, for the page transition; that stays on your device and clears when you close the tab.

When you contact us

If you email, call or message us on social media, we receive what you send: usually your name, contact details and what you need. We use it only to reply, to prepare a proposal, and to run the project if you hire us. We keep it for as long as the project needs it, and business records for as long as Philippine law requires.

Who else handles it

  • Google, which runs Google Analytics.
  • DigitalOcean, which hosts our server in Singapore, where the server logs are kept.

We do not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone else, and we never use it for advertising.

Systems we build for clients

This notice covers bytebento.ph only. When we build or run a system for a client, such as a barangay portal on Bytebento BOS, the client controls the personal data in it and decides how it is used. That is covered by our agreement with the client and the client's own privacy notice.

Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act, you have the right to:

  • Be informed about how your personal data is used
  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct it if it is wrong
  • Object to its use, and ask us to erase or block it
  • Get a copy in a format you can take elsewhere
  • Be paid damages if it is misused
  • File a complaint with the National Privacy Commission

If how we handle data changes, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
